Department of Energy Report Shows Solar Power Generation Up 33% In Q1 2018 Over Q1 2017
A new report from the US Department of Energy shows energy generation from renewable sources like solar and wind is growing stronger every month.
The latest Electric Power Monthly with data from March 2018 shows solar power generation up 33% in Q1 of 2018 over Q1 2017.
Wind generation was up almost 13% in the same period. Meanwhile, coal use was down 8.2% to 28% of all generation.
Solar power has no fuel cost, which makes it a cheaper energy source than “traditional” power plants like coal, oil, and gas.
