Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Luiz D. Me and my family are Brazilian and moved to Texas from New York years ago. We lived in NY and NJ for 5 years, and moved to Texas trying to find a better opportunity in IT.

Why did you decide to switch to solar energy?

My decision to switch to Solar Energy in not based on only one factor:

Financially: We all have to pay for the energy we use. I just did the math, and it was not difficult to understand that the cost of solar plus our new energy bills are equal to a value lower than what we were paying just for energy.

Our home will have a higher value in the marketplace, in case we decide to sell one day. Also, we now have the great chance to remove the PMI from our mortgage due the new equity after installing solar panels.

How much did you know about solar energy?

I started to read, study, and almost participate in trainings to try to install my own system. That was too much! The knowledge I could get was just a reference for my decision.

What kind of system did Alba Energy install for your home?

Alba installed a 8.12 kW system on our home with 28 panels. It should give us 102% offset so that we no longer pay for power from the grid.

What made you choose Alba Energy for your solar installation?

I was already in negotiation with another company, when I realized that they were hiding information, trying to push on me a proposal that I should lose part of the financial benefits of going solar (note: they were offering a solar lease).

After contacting ONCOR about my concerns, I was recommended to request other proposals. I found Alba Energy direct from the ONCOR website, and realized, if ONCOR had good references from Alba Energy, that could be a good company to do business with.

What was the process of going solar like?

In one word: easy! They answered all my questions before and after the business to be concluded. If I have other question, they are ready to answer, always correct, and with same transparency.

What benefits have you seen from going solar?

1 – Financial: Solar, plus energy = Lower bill (between $40-50 lower than before Solar).

2 – Several people ask about Solar, and the provider.

3 – I really trust I am helping the environment.

4 – I know that when I payoff the Solar system, my bills will be around $20-30 maximum, and my house will value a lot more.
